We increased our renewable energy consumption by 25% in the last four years

The set of Ormazabal facilities worldwide reaches the figure of 11 GW of annual green energy consumption

As part of our goal to achieve the intermediate decarbonization target of 68% of our activity by 2030 and the more ambitious goal of climate neutrality by 2050, in recent years we have redoubled our efforts to supply our facilities with energy from 100% renewable sources; contracting these types of services in countries and regions where energy distributors certify it.

Thus, in the last four years, we have managed to reach the significant figure of 11 GW of annual green energy consumption in all our facilities, increasing our consumption of this type of green energy sources by 25% and significantly reducing our environmental impact. A commitment that has been especially noticeable in Europe and that we will soon implement in the rest of the world as opportunities to contract certified green energy services arise.

In addition to purchasing renewable energy services, we are also committed to self-consumption in our facilities. An effort in which we have managed to reach a figure close to 1 GW annually (957,689 kW/h annually) thanks to the deployment of photovoltaic installations in several of our factories such as those in Amorebieta, Burgos, or Igorre.
