Last Thursday, the 12th, was a special day for the entire Ormazabal team in general and Ormazabal France in particular. The Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in France presented us with the “Investissement et rayonnement espagnol en France” award, which highlights Ormazabal’s efforts to invest in technology and industry as the growth vector of its activity in France.
The more than 150 people who make up the Ormazabal team in France, as well as the 2,600 who do so internationally, were represented by Javier Ormazabal, President of Velatia, who stated that this recognition rewards “a path of almost 30 years of anticipatory investments looking at the long term.” Indeed, over the past three decades, Ormazabal has decisively committed to the French market, where we have a factory with high industrial capacities in the municipality of Torcy, inaugurated in 2000, from which we supply customized technological solutions for the electrical grid to all our clients and partners in the region.
The award was presented by the director of Business France, Marie Célie Tardieu, who highlighted Ormazabal’s “relevant role” in the decarbonization of the French energy mix.
For his part, Javier Ormazabal emphasized the significant evolution the company has experienced in the last 10 years in France. Since the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in France (COCEF) and the Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in France awarded us the “Company of the Year Award” in 2013, our market share has grown substantially, making us a key player in supporting our clients in the decarbonization of their activities and the electrification of society.
“As you can see, France has rewarded us over these almost 30 years of effort, allowing us to grow, position ourselves, and be recognized as a French company without losing the global focus of our roots” declared the President of Velatia. Javier Ormazabal assured that Ormazabal’s long-term commitment to France will continue in the coming years. “We will continue in our endeavor and I trust that together we can advance our common goals,” he concluded.
The ceremony, sponsored by Telefónica, was attended by the President of the European Investment Bank, Nadia Calviño; the Spanish Ambassador to France, Victorio Redondo Baldrich; the Director General of International Trade and Investments of the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Alicia Varela Donoso; and the Director of Business France, Marie Cécile Tardieu, among others.
We want to express our most sincere gratitude to all the institutions and people involved in this award.
