Guillermo Amann during his intervention at the round table at MOVEO
The future success of the decarbonization of the economy is closely linked to the electrification of road transport. With this clear message, the 2nd Sustainable Mobility Congress (MOVEO) kicked off this week in Oviedo; this year’s theme is “Economy and sustainability: the challenge of electrifying the future”. The meeting, which is being held from 14 to 17 September, serves as a meeting point for 300 professionals from various relevant organizations in the sector, including Guillermo Amann, Senior Advisor to the President at Ormazabal and spokesperson for the Electrification Forum.
Amann participated in the opening session of the congress “Energy horizons: Challenges of future mobility” together with Jorge Fernández-Mier, Director General of Urban Planning and Environment of Oviedo City Council; Montserrat Lavilla, Chief Marketing Officer at SotySolar; Belarmina Díaz, Director General of Energy and Mining of the Government of Asturias; and Manuel Prieto, CEO at MP Abogados, who acted as moderator.
“The electricity grid is the backbone of the EV charging infrastructure; therefore, it is imperative to reinforce and digitalize it properly to meet the challenge of widespread deployment of EV infrastructure required by the new European Regulation on Alternative Fuels”, explained Guillermo Amann. Furthermore, the Senior Advisor to the President at Ormazabal pointed out that “a fast and ultra-fast charging network, deployed on our roads, will eliminate the anxiety factor that is currently holding back a massive penetration of electric vehicles”.
On the other hand, the spokesperson for the Electrification Forum also wanted to point out that “it is necessary to make a joint effort, among all the actors involved, to raise public awareness of the need to electrify road transport. Public administrations must play a major role in this work”.
A challenge to which we at Ormazabal bring our proven experience in the medium and low voltage electricity grid together with the deployment of our complete and flexible solutions for sustainable mobility. For this reason, in the last 7 years, we have promoted more than 300 ultra-fast charging station projects in Europe -15% of the total installed-, accompanying the main players in the market.
The Oviedo Sustainable Mobility Congress celebrates its second edition with the participation of professionals from entities such as Alimerka, BBVA, Eranovum, Ormazabal, FAEN, Tesla, Efibat, TotalEnergies, Bosquia, CEPSA, Polestar, Grupo Tartiere or Masymas. On the other hand, the fair has stands of numerous companies and organizations that are benchmarks in electric mobility, as well as free test drives of the main brands of electric vehicles.
